Toyota Agya

The Toyota Agya is a city car by Toyota, designed by Daihatsu and manufactured by Astra Daihatsu in Indonesia. It is also sold as the Daihatsu Ayla. The name "Agya" was taken from the Sanskrit word meaning "fast".[1]
The car was announced and showed at the 2012 Indonesia International Motor Show as Toyota and Astra Daihatsu's answer to the Indonesia government's plan of LCGC rule. Initially the car was available for advance booking after the show but it only lasted for few weeks because the manufacturers were waiting for the government to finalize regulation regarding LCGC. Agya and Ayla use the same 1.0 liter 1KR-FE three-cylinder engine as the Toyota Aygo.[1]
On July 2013, Toyota Motor Philippines announced they will import the Agya in December to compete with the Mitsubishi Mirage.[1] It will undergo a different name for the Philippine Market.[2]
Finally, after a year since it was announced Toyota Agya and the Daihatsu Ayla are officially launched and sold to general public on the second week of September 2013.
